London, Ontario, may be mid-sized population-wise but is pretty large. Thankfully, you will find many ways to get around town. The city has several ways to get from London International Airport to downtown. Here, we explore five modes of transportation, and yes, that includes walking. London is a beautiful town, so why not enjoy it?
Public Transport
Public transport is the best way around. There are streetcars, subways, and buses that run via an extensive route through the suburbs and city. You will need tokens or passes for daily or weekly unlimited commutes.
1. Subway
When it comes to public transport, the subway is the quickest and cheapest method. There are two lines:the Yellow Line which runs north to south and the Green Line which runs east to west. There are trains every few minutes from about 6 a.m. until 1:30 a.m., six days a week; on Sundays, they run from 8 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Traveling by subway is inexpensive, and having a pass further cuts down the expense.
2. Buses
Where subways don’t go, buses can. They are not as quick as subways but are equally inexpensive. You will need tickets to get around. You can use either travel from London Airport into the city or vice versa.
The 36 Bus runs to and from the airport from around 6 a.m. to around 6:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Private Transport
Whether you want to go to the city from the airport or vice versa, there are many private modes of transport from London airport to city.
1. Ridesharing Services
We are talking about app-oriented rideshare services like Lyft and Uber. These shared rides are relativelyinexpensive and are faster than public transportation.
2. Airport Taxi
You can hail airport taxis on the street or wait for them at the airport.
3. Limousine
Want to get to the airport in style? Get yourself a limo as your transport from London’s airport into the city. This is a good option if you are bringing in a group of delegates for official business, or if you are on vacation with your family. You can get some work done in the back of your luxurious ride or just relax with a glass of bubbly. A limo is more relaxing and expensive than an airport taxi but safer than rideshare.
When you are in a new town, always remember to go with a reliable cab company. It will be safe, comfortable, and easy to get from London airport to the city centre without waiting. A little comfort goes a long way in making your stay memorable!
